baptism with grace

Last week!! Great blessings August 31st

Hey everyone!! Sorry that this wont really be that long of a message this week. We're struggling with a really slow internet where we are....

This week has been no less than a miracle and great blessing! I LOVE my mission and everything about it!

I attached a picture of Mary Grace Finch's baptism, and just want to share only a couple thoughts this week.

Doctrine and Covenants 18:15-17:
"And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my father!
And now, if you joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!
Behold, you have my gospel before you, and my rock, and my salvation."

This "one Soul" has been me. I have felt that I have been the one taught this whole time by all these amazing missionaries and people for the past two years, and it has changed everything about me. I have been changed for good!
I owe everything to the Lord. And I thank Him for the amazing blessing of putting up with me for two years, and allowing me to grow as I have. I have seen Him lead me, push me, and mold me. He is my master and Lord! I testify of Him and His love, as well as His ability to make us much more than we can alone. We may make ourselves but a smuge, when He will make a masterpiece!

I look forward with much excitement of coming home in a week. BUT I look with even more excitement for what the Lord has planned this week as I finish strong!

I love all of you so much! I look forward to seeing all your faces soon! Have a great week! And I'll see you next week!

Con amor and animo!

August 17th--Trunk-a-size me president!

Hey all you amazing people I love so much!!
Thank you for "enduring to the end" and keeping up with all my emails!! You all have been truly amazing and a priceless support while I've been out here!
BTW, sorry that I didnt send something out yesterday, we got to meet with a General Authority and start the new mission off with a Spiritual bang!

This week has been no less than amazing, busy, crazy, etc..
I have to say though. I have really really grown to start understanding just how "in the hands of the Lord" things are here, it's been pretty amazing.

The weeks before and at the start of the week, we had three on date for baptism for this Saturday, the 29th. It was weird to find that we couldnt find anybody else home, except those that had this baptismal date. Both of us had the feeling that the Lord was making sure that we were using our time in the best way, especially to help them progress this last week. When they were baptized, then we felt that the Lord would have everyone else in our teaching pool ready to talk more often with us.
As the week went on, two of the three fell off date, and just what we felt started happening. People that we hadnt had contact with for a week started really wanting to talk with us regularly, people who had disappeared reappeared, and we found some really cool people who have so much potential. AMAZING just how the Lord works. And we dont understand a sliver of what He does!

Grace is still on date for this upcoming Saturday. All four of us are counting down the days!!!!! It has been an absolute blessing to have been here and teaching her, and seeing the Spirit work with both her and her husband. It's going to be a FUN week!

Feels like eternity ago (just Wednesday)...but WE GOT TO WRESTLE COWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such a fun service opportunity.
Our task was to wrestle the calfs and do all the fun stuff you get to do to them, like de-horning, giving shots, etc.. So half of that time, we were wading though shoe-high amounts of manure! Short to saw, it was a lot of fun!

So yesterday instead of P-day, we got to have a visit with a General Authority, Elder Packer (son of President Packer), to start things in the new mission on a super Spiritual level. SO GOOD! ...except the fact of President going all out in every opportunity to state that I'm the oldest one in the mission and going home really soon. WOOOO!!! I guess this is what all old missionaries feel right about now!
The work here is so amazing right now, I am so grateful I have to blessing to end my mission and start my life here!

That's about all that I can get onto a message right now. I love you all and hope for the best these upcoming weeks! I look forward to seeing all of you!

I testify that this is the work of the Lord. I love serving and look forward to the opportunities that lay ahead of me. I testify of Christ and His Gospel. And invite you all well to "Come and see."

August 17th

Hey everyone!!

It has been a BUSY week! One of the busiest weeks of my time being here in Warden! Putting that all into perspective: We've had about 5X's the number of lessons this week than in any other week in the past! WOOO!!!! ...I love staying busy!

We've been working a lot with three people who are on date for baptism for this upcoming week, the 29th of August: Grace, Codi, and Jacob! We're so excited for them and love their guts! There has been SOOOO many miracles happening with every one of  them!! It's been unreal!
We've got a lot to do this upcoming week, so we really look forward to that as well! Please keep praying for them!!

Other fun stuff throughout the week:

-Had a really awesome Zone Training Meeting!! Everything is better when you have them give out fruit snacks!!

-Got to see Ruth ride her riding lawn-mower, which is a HUGE step for her getting out, moving around, then working. ...we had to stop her and make her take a water break, she was having that much fun!!

-Out and doing our thing in a good-sized wind storm! We got the smaller part of it, in comparison to the tri-cities, which had a 20 car pileup...dont believe anyone was injured though!

-Just living the normal life of a LDS Missionary!! it's the best! (Just ask anyone of us!)

...I'm probably getting pretty horrible about sending all of you good quality messages.
The work is so amazing!! I love it so much!! I have been learning SO much in such a short amount of time!

I love you all and hope for all the amazing blessings to reach all of you as well! I love this Gospel and testify of it! Keep going strong and love what you do!!

August 10th last leg

Hello everyone!!
This has been an amazing week to be a Washington Yakima Missionary!! So much amazing things have been and are happening in this time of the world!! ...this comes from the Gospel (real life) side of the spectrum! ...still not too sure what's happening outside Gospel-life. Grateful for the amazing Gospel we live in today! I cant count or describe what it means to me, but it's a lot!!

I can officially say that I'm on my last leg! I adjusted our dry-erase calendar and found that today and my departure day can fit into the whole calendar...so I think it's on its way here!! Not trunky at all...kinda funny to think about it though!!
Enough of all of that though!!

We've kept pretty busy throughout the whole week. Lots of awesome people we're visited, and the Spirit was pouring out upon many of our brothers and sisters! Love missionary work!

Grace is doing really amazing. Both she and her husband, Chuck are counting down the days until the 29th of this month. She has been zooming through the Book of Mormon and even got Chuck into it a lot. They were in the Isiah chapters...so we got to discuss one of the chapters with them...amazing when you're teaching how much more you can understand Isiah...wish my personal studies were that effective!!! JAJA!!

We're still working with Shawn (wolf) and Codi. We did some more service scraping up some metal from different stuff and pilling it onto his truck. They're working hard in the Book of Mormon, and understanding more and more each day!

Also had some really awesome experiences fasting with some of the members, then breaking it with an awesome BBQ; which turned into a really amazing teaching opportunity for some less active members.

Defiantly had a bunch of trials and difficulties, but we've had some really amazing morning studies that have helped us out a lot!! I love the scriptures and what they can do to help us out!! Do all you can to not be a latter-day pharisee!! There is nothing more worthless than un-applied doctrine! But as we apply it in our lives (mind you, we're not going to be perfect at it), everything changes!!

It's been an amazing week. I love the Lord and will strive to serve Him the rest of my life! I testify of Him and His Gospel and Church!
I love you all and hope for the best as each of you strive to come closer to Him.
